Killing the Dream - Lucky Me.

what can be said about northern california's Killing the Dream that hasn't been said? Lucky Me has to be the biggest leap this band has taken melodically, lyrically all with a darker undertone that is subtle in previous records but really stands out in Lucky Me. if you were hoping this LP had that textbook pissed off/good transitioned blueprint, well it does. to an extent but this LP has to have some of the most daring transitions of any other current hardcore band, especially in 2010 with a huge influx of NYHC and most aggressive bands taking the scene by storm.

i think its safe to say that this isnt only a hardcore record, but its a record for people that enjoy hearing every instrument and every element of a bands music separate but together all at once. in typical Killing the Dream fashion the guitar work is flawless and much like Fractures have decided to keep a very raw and corrosive sort of recording for this LP. this record picks up in SOME places that Fractures left off but experiments with some risky tones and song set up. all in all, if you've followed Killing the Dream and have seen them live, you have without a doubt in your mind that these tracks will be not only intense live, but passion filled. they will forever be one of my favorite bands. it is really worth checking out.
