The Carrier - Blind to What is Right.

alright so i decided to talk about or "review" the new full length from Boston MA's The Carrier. the LP is titled Blind to What is Right and from the very first track, you know this record is going to be a completely more aggressive journey than their last record One Year Later. given the time in between both records and how much longer Blind to What is Right took to come out, or in this class leak a few weeks early you can tell The Carrier is dead set on this newer approach to their song structure.

i think the LP plays both into two styles The Carrier has always carried well, aggressive heaviness and melodic drawn out intros and interludes that break up the songs and take you on a lighter sounding sort of journey. as i listen to the record and write this i can tell you that tracks that automatically stand up out to from the start are: Blind to What is Right, Everyone I Knew and Loved is Gone and In Slience Together.

every single track on the record seems to have a progression that sorts with almost chaotic sounding intro, to riffy verse with almost too much lyric/word context thrown on top of it and huge breaks that make the track stand out very well.

im not very sure if The Carrier chose to stray away from melodic leads and concentrate more on a overbearing aggressive and extremely dark tone. as a whole the record isn't bad at all, i just think it'll strike certain fan's a different way depending on what you have been a fan of from The Carrier's careerthus far.

a big improvement for me is the vocals. not so much the transitions or amount of content that seem a bit "forced" but the vocals definitely keep this LP in your face and very unforgiving and doesn't seem to be lacking in a overall depression/rage/sadness typed fueled record.

im no expert song or album reviewer i just have followed The Carrier and am definitely a fan so i dont believe in rating a album or fucking stars or 5 out of 5 microphones or what not. i think its important to point out of the strong points of the record.

all in all, if you like The Carrier, check this record out. if you are a fan of aggressive music with a dark tone to it. check it out. if you like hardcore check it out.

the end.

im not going to post the link because i figure most of you would be able to find it but support and check out The Carrier here.
